Description
Purpose: To help with pick ups of donations and other items such as tents (used at events) for Bethesda House.
Main Location: The Second Chance store at 25 King Street West, Bowmanville, Ontario with pick ups throughout Durham Region.
Responsibilities:
- pick up donations from community supporters and drop off to our Second Chance store location
- pick up & return of tents and other items for events
- work as part of a professional team with other volunteers and Bethesda House staff
- learn about Bethesda House & Second Chance in order to promote to customers
- other duties as willing and able
Length of Appointment: Casual throughout the year.
Qualifications:
Dependable, pleasant personality, willingness to learn and accept supervision and take direction, ability to understand directions in English, willingness to accept and work with people of diverse backgrounds. Full G license and access to a reliable vehicle. Ability to follow directions and/or access to GPS/mapping app to pick up donations and event equipment. Able to move reasonably-sized boxes and bags of donations.
Support: Training for this position will be provided and support is available for questions and assistance.
Dress Code:
Casual and comfortable. Appropriate for work being done. Close toed shoes.
100% of proceeds from our store directly benefit Bethesda House and it's outreach programs.
